Bisnis, JAKARTA — According to information compiled by Bisnis, PT Bank Digital BCA led other banks in net profit growth in the first quarter, with significant gains from millions to billions.
Trailing behind are PT Bank Jago (ARTO) with a year-on-year growth of 24.01 percent and PT Allo Bank Indonesia (BBHI) with 23.19 percent YoY. In contrast, Superbank, the digital bank under PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi (EMTK), incurred a net loss in the same period.
Banking observer and payment system practitioner Arianto Muditomo said banks’ performance in the first quarter of 2024 is driven by improvements in digital banks as public's awareness of digital banking services grew. According to Arianto, the growth of these digital banks is also correlated with the performance of their parent groups, which also play a role in managing the business and operational strategies of these digital banks.
He noted the collaboration of ARTO with the GoTo Group and PT Bank Raya Indonesia (AGRO) which synergizes with the BRI Group as an example. Similarly, BBHI collaborates with the business giant owned by Chairul Tanjung, and BCA Digital with the BCA Group.
