Bisnis, JAKARTA – ASEAN, an alliance of ten nations in Southeast Asia, needs to form a united front and take advantage of the momentum from economic recovery for the growth of the region.
The Southeast Asia region needs to be able to compete amid geopolitical rivalry, a global financial crisis, and a global economy that has not fully recovered yet.
President Joko Widodo said that ASEAN must strengthen its inclusive economic cooperation and reinforce its food health, energy, and financial stability architecture, at the opening of the ASEAN 42nd Summit, Wednesday (10/5/2023).
“I believe, we all believe, that ASEAN is capable, with one key which is unity. With unity, ASEAN will be capable of becoming a central player and bringing peace and growth,” said the President in Meruorah Komodo Hotel, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara.
