Bisnis, JAKARTA – Indonesia as the host of the ASEAN Summit has voiced some main concerns such as the protection of migrant workers to the development of electric vehicles to support solidarity and solid economic growth for the region.
These points were expressed by President Joko Widodo during the closing of the 42nd ASEAN Summit on Thursday (11/5/2023) in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara. President Jokowi and eight other heads of state have ratified a declaration composed of ten points.
Some of the highlighted points are namely protection of migrant workers, victims of human trafficking, investment, and trade, to the resolution of the Myanmar conflict.
President Jokowi has underlined the protection of migrant workers and human trafficking victims. “I call on ASEAN countries to take firm action against the main perpetrators,” he said.
