Bisnis, JAKARTA —Indonesia's completely built-up (CBU) car export performance remains positive as shipments from January through August 2023 reached 108 destination countries.

According to data from the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO), CBU car exports totaled 337,312 from January through August 2023, up by 18% YoY from 285,933 units.

Jongkie Sugiarto, Co-Chairman I of GAIKINDO, said the performance of CBU car exports in Indonesia is controlled by the principals or head offices of each brand, hence it is difficult to predict.

However, he hopes that the principals are willing to increase their shipment volumes from Indonesia. He also hopes that the destination countries for CBU cars experience economic growth to support exports from Indonesia.
