Bisnis, JAKARTA — The presence of PT Pertamina (Persero) through Pertamina International EP (PIEP) in Venezuela is anticipated to strengthen following the agreement between the two countries in the oil and natural gas sector.

This collaboration agreement, outlined in a memorandum of understanding (MoU), was signed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif and the Venezuelan Minister of Petroleum Pedo Rafael Tellechea in Caracas, Venezuela, on Thursday (18/1/2024) local time.

Arifin highlighted Indonesia's intention to enhance economic cooperation with Venezuela, aiming to bolster South-South Cooperation. On the other hand, energy has an important role in improving the economy.

"Therefore, we note that the two countries can share possible business opportunities in the energy sector, especially in the oil and gas sector," said Arifin in his statement, quoted on Sunday (28/1/2024).
