Bisnis, JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) has initiated an auction for the construction project of a VVIP Airport within the New Capital City of Nusantara (IKN). The project, which is part of the development plans for the IKN in East Kalimantan Province, is valued at IDR 4.28 trillion and utilizes the 2023 State Budget (APBN) for funding.

The primary objective of this VVIP Airport project, to be located in Penajam North Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, is to enhance the accessibility and mobility of important guests (VVIP) traveling to and from the IKN area via air transportation. The announcement of the auction winner is scheduled for November 7, 2023, with the contract signing process to follow on November 14, 2023. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has emphasized the need to complete the construction of the VVIP airport in the Indonesian capital (IKN) by mid-2024 at the latest, or early August 2024.
